Incest
Incest is generally classified as a crime against the family, chastity, morality, decency and good order. Laws vary by state, but generally a person is guilty of incest if that person knowingly marries or cohabits or has sexual intercourse with certain relatives as defined by the state. These relatives usually include an ancestor or descendant, a brother or sister of the whole or half blood or an uncle, aunt, nephew or niece of the whole blood. Some states do permit marriages to first cousins while others do not. The relationships referred to may include blood relationships without regard to legitimacy, and the relationship of a parent and child by adoption.
Incest is a felony and when committed without consent it may combined with other offenses such as assault or rape.
